A day in the life
A typical day for a Regional Cx Manager begins with a in-region leadership call to align on critical project status and escalations across the region. Next, you review a monthly capacity delivery forecast and resource plan, strategizing with direct reports on resource allocation across multiple ongoing data center (DC) commissioning projects. The late morning involves a status review and/or strategic planning session with stakeholders to resolve escalations across projects and to optimize the commissioning approach for next-generation data center design. At noon, the technical SME team conducts a review of proposed technical script improvements and known quality risks in current builds, including proposed changes to commissioning procedures based on lessons learned and emerging technologies. The afternoon includes executive level white-paper document sessions to review blockers across new technology intercepts on highest-priority sites, followed by budget planning for the upcoming fiscal year's commissioning activities, and discussions with key vendors and partners to discuss long-term roadmaps and alignment with demand. Additional time will be spent mentoring direct reports on leadership development and reviewing teams' goals and performance metrics. The day typically concludes with addressing escalated technical or resource challenges from the region team, supporting elimination of constraints for the 4-week look ahead.
About the team
The Data Center Commissioning & Delivery (DCCD) AWS Commissioning (ACx) team specializes in developing and implementing automated testing solutions for data center infrastructure commissioning.
This specialized team combines traditional commissioning expertise with advanced systems engineering to create, validate, and deploy automated test scripts and procedures that enhance the efficiency and reliability of the commissioning process.
