The Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) is hiring a proactive and organized Donor Operations Manager to lead key functions in executing and optimizing donor operations at FCNL. This position oversees complex gift processing systems, ensures data integrity across platforms, and manages donor stewardship strategies. With a deep understanding of fundraising operations and data systems, the Donor Operations Manager works cross-functionally with internal and external partners to deliver a seamless and donor-centered experience that supports FCNL's annual fundraising goals. This role performs specialized and technical operational work, drawing on prior experience and expertise. The Manager also collaborates extensively with colleagues across the Development Department to drive efficiency, accuracy, and donor satisfaction. This position requires on-site presence at FCNL's Capitol Hill office two days per week, with the flexibility of three days of remote work. The Donor Operations Manager reports to the Director of Development Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gift Processing & Data Management:
Lead all aspects of mail processing and gift entry for a wide range of donation types. Oversee and improve donation processing systems. Manage relationship with FCNL's external caging vendor (Trylon), ensuring accuracy and compliance with FCNL's data policies. Design and implement systems and workflows to ensure high-quality, timely, and accurate gift entry and batch documentation in Raiser's Edge/RENXT. - Acknowledgments & Donor Stewardship:
Lead all gift acknowledgement and receipting processes including the development and production of acknowledgment letters and consolidated receipts for individual and institutional donors. Develop and manage donor communication protocols through multiple channels (phone, Freshdesk, email). Oversee tribute gift notifications and special acknowledgments in collaboration with Development team members. - Database & Record Maintenance:
Maintain and update donor records in Raiser's Edge/RENXT, ensuring biographical updates and communication preferences are timely and accurately recorded. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance database accuracy and efficiency. Acquire and maintain relevant Raiser's Edge/RENXT certifications. - Sustainer Program Administration:
Manage all operational aspects of the monthly giving program (raising $600k annually), including payment processing and lapsed donor resolution. Develop and improve workflows and reporting systems that support sustainer retention and reengagement in partnership with Senior Director, Direct Response and Marketing. - Operational Support:
Provide high-level administrative and technical support for Annual Fund, Planned Giving, Major Gift, and Capital Campaign programs. Contribute to the development of department-wide procedures and materials; manage Development documentation and offsite storage.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit gift processing, donor operations, or related field
- At least 2 years of database/CRM experience required
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Professional and courteous presence, on the phone and in person
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to engage effectively with donors, staff, and FCNL governance
- Ability to speak to donors and potential donors about FCNL's mission, initiatives and impact
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy required; ability to meet deadlines and follow through on responsibilities

- Comfort working in an office environment that reflects the Quaker testimonies of peace, equity, simplicity, and stewardship; and working within the Quaker process of FCNL

Preferred Qualifications
- Raiser's Edge/RENXT experience, strongly preferred
- Experience working with ImportOmatic, a plus

Work Expectations
- The anticipated compensation range for candidates in DMV is $67,500 to $72,000 per year. The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate and placement within the pay grade will be dependent on the candidate's specific background and qualifications and equilibrium with our internal equity. FCNL is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect salary ranges in other states or locations outside of the DMV.

- Work Week: This is a full-time non-exempt position, based on a 37.5-hour workweek. It is a hybrid position that requires some time in the office on a regular basis to attend events, meetings, or to complete special projects. Development staff will be expected to work some hours during the winter holidays, as well as FCNL's two major annual events (Annual Meeting in November and a spring lobbying event).
