Easterseals PORT Health’s mission is to improve the lives, health and well-being of individuals and families dealing with substance use and mental health disorders. We are seeking a compassionate, caring, and dedicated
Counselors to join our collaborative, multidisciplinary Greenville Adolescent Residential, GAR, team designed to provide or arrange access to a full continuum of care for adults and youths.
Schedule: Evenings 4pm - 12am, third shift 12am - 8am and weekends, with an option to also work 12 hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday. This position is up to 24 hours per week.
What You’ll Do
As the Counselor at the GAR you will be responsible for providing and maintaining a therapeutic and safe group environment and attending to the welfare and basic needs of clients. The counselor provides informal counseling that involve behavioral techniques, reality therapy, supportive encouragement and socialization skills for the clients. You will also participate with the client in NA/AA meetings, adventure, social and educational outings an provide transportation to appointments.

competitive salary starting at $15.00/hour depending on skills and experience. This is a part-time role. We also offer benefits for benefits eligible positions.

What We’re Looking For
To join our team as the DSP you must be able to facilitate group meetings, help clients move toward successful completion of treatment requirements and communicate with community agencies on their behalf for referrals. We also require:
- High school diploma or GED
- CPR and first aid certifications
- 1 year of experience with mental health population OR AAS in Human Services program
- Maintain valid state appropriate driver’s license and auto insurance for personal and agency vehicles utilized for work
