Leads trainers in the management of training and retraining of the Distribution Center associates. Key partner in the onboarding of new associates and assisting existing staff in skills development in areas of proper lifting techniques, safety, equipment operation and process changes. Partners with Operations team, Industrial Engineer, Safety and Human Resources to ensure metrics, documentation, tools, and systems are current and following company standards. The position is responsible for reviewing Trainer and Trainee performance and coaching through adjustments in the process.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides coaching, leadership, and oversight to the shift training team.
- Plans training schedules for the team to support the needs of new hires and existing staff.
- Maintain all records documenting training and competencies.
- Supports one on one training to associates following the onboarding guidelines and checklists as needed or when staffing demands require.
- Certify trainers on training material and process.
- Oversee that associates are instructed on how to select and palletize grocery, produce, meat, frozen food, and dairy orders for shipment to retail stores accurately.
- Oversee that associates are taught to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist Safety Specialist in implementation of monthly tips and recertify associates after incidents on equipment.
- Monitor aisles and provide feedback/coaching to all associates on techniques.
- Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or distribution center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.
- Prepare training materials and reference documents for associates' trends, to develop appropriate action plans and to provide appropriate recognition.
- Maintain a safe clean work area which includes observing and following all safety procedures.
- Support associate recognition and survey completion (STAR).
- Role model following all company policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Education or equivalent
- Training experience in selection and lift driving.
- Experience in ADUSA distribution environment.
- Previous leadership experience desired.
Skills:
- Ability to create reports and documentation.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and lift.

- Ability to partner with various teams and individuals in the Distribution Center.
- Ability to use Microsoft office suite, WMS, and other Warehouse tools.

- Able to work efficiently with little to no supervisions
- Able to manage indirect hours in supervisors' absence
- Able to conduct honest safety observation on peers and fellow trainers
- Ability to work a variety of work shifts and schedules (length, time, weekends, holidays)
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Willingness to be trained in a variety of positions, demonstrating multi-skill capabilities.
- Able to use personal computer for data entry and research purposes
- Highly motivated self-starter and team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to wear a headset to support voice selection for all areas of warehouse selection
- Ability to work in a -5 degree to 90+ degree Fahrenheit environment (temperature varies within each department) for extended periods of time.
