The Opportunity
This position is based out of Sylmar, California.
As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.
This position is responsible for executing and maintaining software quality engineering methodologies and providing quality engineering support for software utilized throughout the division.
What you will work on
The Senior Machinist sets up, adjusts and operates standard and special types of machine tools to perform diversified machining operations on work having close tolerance and finish specifications. Takes initiative to ensure work is done accurately and completely. Performs assignments of moderate complexity. Applies existing work methods to different known situations. Problems involve recurring, routine situations; usually refers more complex problems to supervisor or more senior level personnel within organization Sets up, adjusts and operates standard and special types of machine tools to perform diversified machining operations on work having close tolerance and finish specifications. Main Responsobilities
- Setup and operate all machine shop equipment to produce standard and custom machined parts per required specifications.
- Provide support to the R&D project teams by machining various parts and handling outsourcing when required.
- Advise R&D Engineers, Scientists and Technologists on part/feature design with respect to machining methods.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all machine tools.
- Manage inventory of stock materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and observe all EHS and other safety rules and procedures.
- Safeguard the environment and facilitate a safe and healthy workplace culture.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize own daily work to meet established schedule
- Mechanically inclined and adept at learning with a high level of initiative and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and balance workload of multiple projects.

Qualifications
Education
- Technical Diploma (± 12 years) in a Manufacturing, Engineering, Technician or related discipline
- Certain jobs require permits or official accreditations in addition to a degree.

- Minimum 3 yearsWork experience in a regulated environment is an asset.
The base pay for this position is
$24.40 – $48.80/hour
