We are looking for seasoned system development engineer; you’re perfect if you possess a rare mix of depth in functions which involve Dev, Ops, and Customer Obsession. It's difficult to find all these characteristics simultaneously but if you have them all, you’re highly valued and a rare breed! We need these skills because you will be working with an agile team developing an ecosystem of tools that support the Global Connectivity and Infrastructure team.
Ideal candidates should be obsessed with Linux/Windows and demonstrate expertise utilizing system level tools. You should also be a competent coder with a track record of implementing solutions using software that you have written in a maintainable and best practices manner. A wide range of understanding cloud architectures as associated principles will help candidates be successful in this role. If you’re interested in the position, you should have a strong customer obsession that drives you to learn about your customers and innovate. And, you should be dedicated in the techniques and research that provide a holistic view of our customers.
Key job responsibilities
You will be responsible for the design, implementation and quality of services you deliver. Your experience working in a systems development or in an enterprise environment will help us implement automated solutions across a variety of applications and systems.
You’ll also:
• Be part of the team that shapes the automation future in networking.
• Develop DevOps and automation tasks for test infrastructure.
• Use and develop tools and process that collect & rationalize data from different sources and frameworks that reduce workloads.
• Use data to measure success and take responsibility for the quality of your service and, regardless of their source; Strive to prevent faults from impacting your customers.
• Develop best in class software systems for automating Amazon's network.
• Work closely with our Network Engineering teams to ensure fast and smooth software roll-outs.
• Identify and troubleshoot recurring platform issues with effective escalation to senior-level engineering teams.
• Learn, design, and build cloud-computing systems for a diverse set of customers.
• Contribute to documentation of process and procedures.
• Design and recommend optimization for service delivery and fleets.
A day in the life
This role is within a small, but critical team within the Global Connectivity Infrastructure Development organization. The team is building software solutions that drive increased velocity of the network acquisition and deployment processes. We must deploy and manage cloud infrastructure solutions that support these tools and we are developing new microservices that support our customers needs.
