Amazon’s Compensation team is seeking a Principal Compensation Consultant to provide strategic compensation support to our AWS Sales and Marketing organizations. As a Principal Compensation Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering on the compensation needs in AWS' Sales and Marketing businesses through strategic, analytical and consulting services. You will work directly with the HR and Business leadership to build and evolve compensation programs that directly support the business's strategic objectives and provide hands-on assistance related to all areas of compensation analysis.
We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-moving environment and are comfortable dealing with ambiguity. You must have a passion to work with complex data, and be detailed and accurate from start to finish in developing programs and completing projects. The successful candidate will proactively partner with client-facing HR Business Partners and Business leadership to identify and address compensation issues, and evangelize Amazon’s Total Compensation philosophy and strategy.
Key job responsibilities
• Partner with HR leadership and teams to develop and implement compensation strategies for multiple functional areas within AWS Sales and Marketing.
• Independently lead discussions with senior leaders in the business, HR, and Recruiting.
• Develop creative solutions as needed on a variety of total compensation issues, and work on a variety of ad hoc special compensation projects as needed.
• Perform deep analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing global compensation programs and assess potential impact of alternatives.
• Deliver on projects including program design, analysis, budgeting, and implementation of new programs.
• Write detailed and compelling papers to articulate the findings and recommendations from your analysis to a non-technical audience.
• Work to gain alignment with different constituencies and represents a common point of view across multiple stakeholders.
• Build and maintain mechanisms to drive operational excellence; understand current state of systems and processes and develop gap analysis between current state and customer requirements.
