Job Description
The Resource Coordinator Mammography reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with the selection of new team members.
- Conducts orientation and training of new and existing staff.
- Monitors the orientation of staff and identifies further instructional needs.
- Schedules staff for adequate coverage to meet the needs of the department; maintains attendance records.
- Prioritizes, assigns, and reviews work; provides feedback to director regarding staff performance.
- Develops and conducts mammography competencies.
- Serves as a resource to staff.
- Ensures staffing levels meet department guidelines ensures optimal department coverage and minimal overtime.
- Monitors utilization of supplies and equipment for optimal efficiency and cost containment.
- Coordinates equipment maintenance and repairs; assists with recommendations regarding the acquisition of new equipment.
- Supports quality assurance programs for the department.
- Enforces policies and procedures.
- Coordinates patient flow through department; resolves scheduling issues.
- Conducts MQSA and ACR inspections for all mammography equipment.
- Ensures all exams are ordered correctly in HIS/RIS, charged, and tracked accurately.
- Communicates with patient before procedure to obtain history, explain risks and what can be expected; communicates during procedure to monitor safety, and comfort.
- Positions patient to achieve optimal image quality.
- Selects data such as anatomical area and sets proper technique to ensure optimal image quality.
- Views images on display screen to ensure quality of images for interpretation.
- Performs screening mammography exams.
- Performs exams to include diagnostic mammography, needle localization and core biopsies.
- Performs bone density exams to include setting baseline, analysis of study, and general management of bone density exam file.
- Prepares images and compiles study for radiologist relaying all appropriate information.
- Supports performance improvement initiatives in cardiovascular patient care processes provided by clinical staff in the hospital and at other NMHC programs on an ongoing basis.
- Monitor performance of initiatives and support quality improvements as applicable.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent
- ARRT Registry in Mammography, IEMA
- 3 to 5 years of related work experience
