Want to work in a start-up environment with the resources of Amazon behind you? Do you want to have direct and immediate impact on millions of customers every day? In this role, you will be a technical leader with massive impact. If you are a self-starter, enjoy building large scale distributed and orchestration systems, and are intrigued by ambiguous problems, look no further. Amazon is re-inventing B2B/B2C eCommerce by offering customers of all sizes the same advantages Amazon has already brought to consumers including broad selection, low pricing, and great customer service. Amazon Bulk Services (ABS) vision is to provide the most compelling selection across all pack sizes at the lowest cost with zero defects and optimal supplier experience. As a leader within this organization, you will be involved in helping re-imagine what a B2B supply chain should look like and play a key role in the technology that will power our B2B supply chain. This is a chance to be part of making history.
We're seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to be a part of our group. In this role you will be the single threaded leader owning programs to deliver complex projects across multiple Director/VP organizations. The role will work with a diverse set of stakeholders to drive automation and optimization including Amazon Catalog, listing experience, shipment inbound to our fulfillment centers to how material is stored in our warehouses to customer shipment outbound. Responsibilities also include disambiguating complex problem, identifying business and tech requirements, solution design and architecture, tech design, building MVP and tech roadmaps, and product delivery / launch. You will own communication through various stages of the product lifecycle: from vision documents at inception, to reporting and business review updates through implementation, and launch. You will present and share these to broad audiences including engineering and business leadership, partner teams, and stakeholders.
The right candidate will possess a strong technology (engineering) and program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading large to extra-large programs, and will have a well-rounded product and tech background. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
