Job Description
The Manager, Physician Compensation reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
This position will have responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operations, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for the Company’s compensation programs. The Compensation Manager will work with a broad range of internal customers assisting them with application of the Company’s compensation programs and recommending solutions for internal or external inequities. The Compensation Analyst reports to this position.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee data gathering, interpret information and assist in design and preparation of materials presented to Senior Management in support of annual Salary Increase Budget and Bonus Programs.
- Advise department managers on matters regarding compensation policy and practice, including merit increases, equity adjustments, interim assignments, promotions and demotions.
- Directs Compensation Analyst in evaluating jobs (new, existing and revised), create job descriptions, analyze market data, compare internal equity and make salary and pay grade recommendations as appropriate.
- Define and oversee process for market pricing benchmark positions (nursing, imaging, middle management, etc). Assist in making recommendations and presenting findings to senior management.
- Oversee, participate in and conduct custom salary surveys. Utilize data bases to analyze compa ratios and pay differentials based upon experience.
- Work with the Manager, Shared Services to design and maintain proper setup for salary plans, position type, grade assignment and titling within PeopleSoft.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Labor Wage and Hour rules as it relates to exempt and non-exempt status, application of overtime calculations and other regulatory matters.
- Ensure compliance with writing and coding job description in relation to licensure and certification requirements under The Joint Commission.
- Oversee and guide the efforts of the Compensation Analyst.
Manage special projects to established deadlines and meet project objectives. - Design graphics and slides for meetings, and may conduct training sessions including New Employee Orientation.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A., B.S.)
- Minimum of 5 years compensation experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong conflict resolution skills
Preferred:
- Master's Degree (M.S., M.S., M.B.A.)
- CCP and/or CBP
- Strong financial background (accounting, finance)
