The Opportunity
This position works out of our Plano, TX location in the Abbott Neuromodulation business unit. Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum.
The Senior Supervisor, Operations Quality is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day quality operations within manufacturing and inspection environments. This individual will lead a team of quality professionals to ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. The role focuses on driving executional excellence, reducing waste, and fostering a proactive problem-solving culture to support product reliability and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Work On
Lead and develop a team of Quality Control Inspectors and Operations Quality Engineers, providing coaching, performance management, and career development.
Ensure timely and effective execution of quality control activities including in-process inspections, final release, and nonconformance management.
Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Monitor and report on key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, first-pass yield, inspection throughput) and lead corrective actions as needed.
Support CAPA investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of robust corrective/preventive actions.
Collaborate with QA Engineering to align on validation, calibration, and QMS improvement initiatives.
Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820) and internal quality procedures.
Drive standardization and process optimization across inspection and quality control activities.
Support internal and external audits, including preparation, execution, and response to findings.
Champion a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Life Sciences, or related field
5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within a regulated manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of direct supervisory or leadership experience
advanced degree or certifications (e.g., ASQ, Six Sigma) preferred.
Strong knowledge of quality systems, inspection techniques, and regulatory requirements (ISO 13485, FDA).
Strong experience in quality data analytics, including statistical analysis, trend identification, and reporting.
Familiarity with MES and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with CAPA, nonconformance handling, and audit readiness.
