Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Civil Construction Superintendent with expertise in transmission and utility site work to lead field operations on infrastructure projects involving electrical transmission lines, substations, underground utilities, and related civil scopes. The ideal candidate will oversee a traveling crew and facilitate with customers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of site development.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee daily field operations for transmission and utility civil projects, including site grading, trenching, access roads, and foundations.
- Coordinate with site managers, project managers, engineers, customers, and subcontractors to ensure timely and compliant execution.
- Enforce safety protocols and environmental regulations on-site.
- Interpret civil and utility drawings, specifications, and permits.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure adherence to standards.
- Manage logistics for equipment, materials, and personnel.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and documentation.
- Lead site meetings and communicate progress and issues to stakeholders.
- Resolve field challenges and provide technical guidance to crews.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school certification or education equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in civil construction, with a focus on utility and transmission site work.
- Strong understanding of utility infrastructure, including electrical transmission, underground utilities, and site development.
- Ability to read and interpret civil and utility plans, permits, and specifications.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Teams, and Excel
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 30 certification and familiarity with NESC, NEC, and local utility standards.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote job sites.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with utility companies or EPC contractors.
- Familiarity with erosion control, stormwater management, and environmental permitting.
- Background in managing subcontractor crews for access on utility an transmission projects.
