We are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead and grow our engineering team within the Security Risk and Compliance (SRC) organization. This role will lead a team of software developers responsible for building innovative solutions that leverage AWS technologies and Generative AI to enhance security risk management capabilities across Amazon.
As the Software Development Manager, you will drive technical strategy, mentor and develop software engineers, and ensure delivery of high-quality cloud-native applications. You'll be responsible for establishing engineering best practices, driving architectural decisions, and creating a culture of technical excellence. The role requires strong leadership in agile development practices, CI/CD implementation, and cloud architecture, while partnering with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software developers, fostering technical excellence, career growth, and a culture of innovation while ensuring delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions, ensuring best practices in cloud architecture, security, and data engineering while aligning solutions with business objectives and stakeholder needs.
- Establish and maintain development standards, including code quality, testing protocols, and security practices, while overseeing the implementation of robust CI/CD pipelines and AWS infrastructure.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to define technical roadmaps, resource requirements, and delivery timelines while ensuring effective communication and collaboration across teams.
- Manage team capacity, sprint planning, and technical debt while balancing new feature development with platform stability and operational excellence.
- Oversee the implementation of security best practices and compliance requirements, ensuring all solutions meet Amazon's security standards and industry regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and methodologies while staying current with emerging technologies and AWS services that could benefit the team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing regular updates on team progress, technical challenges, and strategic initiatives while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
