The Role
GovExec is seeking a Senior Associate, Event Marketing to join our Digital Marketing Department. GovExec hosts 200+ virtual and in-person events each year, including custom client-branded experiences and editorial programs for Government Executive, Nextgov/FCW, Defense One, Route Fifty, andWashington Technology. Additionally, this marketer will assist with our sister company, ATARC, in their event marketing efforts.
As a Senior Associate for Event Marketing, your day-to-day will include creating marketing plans, copywriting and copyediting, segmenting audiences, conducting market research, and engaging audiences to register for various events. In this role, you will develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies, including email and social media marketing, digital advertising, and more.
This role will focus on email and website marketing, as well as event marketing for both virtual and in-person events.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns to drive registrations and attendance to multiple events at a given time
- Create unique and engaging marketing copy and design across emails and social media
- Employ email best practices for send times, subject lines, list segmentation, formatting, and deliverability
- Analyze KPIs and success metrics to adapt and shape marketing strategy in real time, including registration pacing and event show-rates
- Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders to meet campaign objectives
- Collaborate with teams, including sales, to ensure materials are up to date
- Staff in-person events in the Washington, D.C. area
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in an event marketing role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexibility and interest to learn new skills, technologies, and industry trends
- Initiative to drive new ideas forward in the marketing industry
- Familiar with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite, and Google Suite
- Experience with HTML, Sailthru, or email marketing is a plus
- Experience with social media is a plus

The compensation range for this role is $55,000 to $61,000 per year.
