Amazon is seeking an industry proven and detail oriented Supplier Qualification Manager to support supply chain innovation and optimization of automation technologies across our Last Mile delivery operation. Successful candidates are natural self-starters who have prior experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, contract manufacturing, change management, and system supplier and/or technology sourcing. The Supplier Qualification Manager must be agile with the ability to quickly adapt strategies, plans and solutions in response to dynamic business requirements. They also must be comfortable interfacing and driving various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization. • Managing overall supplier relationships including supplier performance, capability, capacity planning, contracting, risk mitigation, cost and quality improvements.
• Collaborating with technical operations, engineering, and program teams on new product introduction programs to define standard and custom product requirements ensuring sourcing strategies meet the technical capabilities, cost, and business objectives.
• Drive suppliers’ continuous improvement and value engineering in support of program’s performance metrics: quality, delivery, capacity, cost and safety.
• Monitor suppliers’ supply chain, manufacturing, human capital with respect to overall program objectives.
• Development and execution of global commodity strategies that align business requirements with supplier capabilities.
• Develop alternate sourcing strategies to optimize costs and ensure continuity of supply.
A day in the life
1. Support Purchasing with the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risk
2. Investigate and support the resolution of supplier quality-related SIV complaints. Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
3. Manage the root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality to address process failures and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products from suppliers
