Assistant Site Manager Administrative – Plant Wansley CCR

POSITION SUMMARY & LOCATION
In this position you will have the opportunity to assist the Construction Manager (CM) and Project Manager (PM) in coordinating, supervising, and inspection of administrative operations and activities for the GPC Plant Wansley Ash Pond Closure & Plant Dismantlement Projects.
This position will be responsible for Admin functions for both the Ash Pond Closure and the Plant Dismantlement Projects at Plant Wansley located in Carrollton GA. The work location will be on-site at Plant Wansley.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively supporting the program through active communication/prioritization with multiple site CMs and PMs.
- Manage the invoicing, accrual process, and other administrative functions on the site.
- Ensure the financial reporting integrity of construction activities for the project.
- Assist with managing the budget and other metrics for the projects.
- Assist administrative and construction staff in tracking Extra Work, Contractor Correspondence, Change Orders, etc.
- Assist in the development and dissemination of critical project statistical information (i.e. material quantities installed, budget analysis, etc.)
- Participate and provide support in the development of bid packages, conduct pre-bid meetings, and bid evaluations.
- Help ensure site compliance and contract administration procedures to include all required documentation.
- Abide by all safety rules and help establish and maintain a safe work environment
- Plan and supervise, as applicable, project activities to ensure completion within schedule and budget requirements.
- Supervise the work of subordinates assigned to him/her.
- Mentor, coach, and develop project team members.
- Perform miscellaneous assignments as directed by the Project & Construction Manager(s). CMs and PMs
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Building Science or Construction Management preferred, but not required
Experience:
- Five (5) years of plant, project, and/or construction management experience preferred
- Construction experience on large capital projects strongly preferred
- Previous experience in Maximo Labor Rate Contracts, Labor Purchase Orders and Timesheets is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA and Southern Company safety rules and safe work procedures and applicable environmental regulations.
- Knowledge of construction standard practices, techniques, quality requirements, applicable codes and standards.
- Proficient in invoice reconciliation to ensure invoices are paid in accordance with contract terms
- Ability to interface with contractors, designers, vendors and other parties connected with the project.
- Ability to accurately appraise technical situations and recommend resolutions to problems.
- Interpersonal, communications and strong leadership skills.
