The Opportunity
Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments, and informatics systems is often the first step in patient care decision-making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.
Our Core Diagnostics team is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to lead a cross-functional subproject team in the development of new products. The Senior Systems Engineer will identify solutions to complex product development challenges and create system-level design documentation and requirements specifications in collaboration with marketing, engineering, and other key stakeholders. They will contribute to specialized areas such as algorithm development, user interface design, or data analysis methodologies. The role involves executing experiments using established procedures, evaluating outcomes, and documenting results thoroughly. Additionally, they will build strong working relationships across cross-functional teams to support integrated product development efforts.
Responsibilities
- Perform product definition, system architecture, requirements writing, requirements management, requirements analysis, risk analysis, hazard analysis, product test and evaluation, System V & V, and/or design control documentation.
- Optimizes design processes.
- Design and conduct system level characterization/verification of complex systems; collect, organize, analyze, and document test results.
- Integrate analytical and performance related elements with software, hardware, and electronics system components.
- Communicate effectively and participate on cross functional development teams with good negotiating skills to direct multi-disciplinary teams toward solutions.
- Responsible for utilizing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Systems Engineering or STEM related field required
- Master’s Degree a plus
- Minimum 6 years of experience
- Experience in general engineering/science principals and laboratory skills.
- Strong knowledge of defined development process that is consistent with ISO, FDA design control standards or requirements.
- Solid understanding and application of principles, theories, concepts and techniques in solving software design problems; performing trade studies; developing design requirements; developing software for electromechanical systems; and providing guidance to the design, implementation, and test of software, or systems.
- Experience leading Device Definition & Architecture, Alternate Design Evaluation and Interface Design across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Experience leading Technical Risk Assessment through product development phases, including design risk identification, risk evaluation and risk reduction/ contingency strategies.
- Ability to lead investigation across multiple disciplines, identify root causes and solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate to senior leadership to describe issue/resolutions/status.
- Experience with emerging technologies and identifying novel solutions to complex system problems.
- Experience leading System Modelling projects and performing System Impact Analysis.
- This is an onsite role that will be located at our Irving, TX office.

$85,300.00 – $170,700.00
