We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Operations Technician for 2 two-on-one natural-gas fired combined cycle units in the Franklin, GA area. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for overall operations and maintenance of these units which includes starting up, shutting down, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing the plant's electrical, instrumentation and mechanical equipment. This position also includes maintaining plant maintenance records in a computer-based work order system (Maximo) as well as participating in the plant’s maintenance program as a system owner. Operations Review Board team participation is expected at various times as well.
  
  
  
JOB SUMMARY
  
  
  
This position will be responsible for operating two units. It also includes monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical power plant equipment; and various other duties.
  
  
  
Job Experience
  
  
  
  
- Previous power plant, turbine, or boiler experience is preferred. 
- Gas turbine or combined cycle experience preferred. 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  
  
  
  
- Preferred: strong electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with 4160v/480v switchgear, and print reading.
- Strong mechanical and electric aptitude and a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment are required. 
- Instrumentation experience is a plus. Other Attributes - Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, team player. 
- Must be able to handle complex, pressure situations and be adaptable to a changing work environment. Must be able to support a 24/7 schedule, including holiday and back shift work when necessary. 
- Must be a self-starter. 
- Must be able to pass the pre-employment testing.
