This position is responsible for supporting Mississippi Power Company’s Lighting Services Department with a primary focus on leading and supporting efforts related to Lighting construction and maintenance. Lead role responsibilities include coordinating and providing oversight for the construction and/or maintenance efforts of contractor crews, including work planning/scheduling and procurement and delivery of required materials. This position has the responsibility of representing the MPC Customer Solutions organization on work teams and committees including Safety Committees.  All position responsibilities include maintaining 'Safety First' as the top priority.
  
  
  
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  
  
  
  
- High School diploma is required. 
 
  
- A working knowledge of Electrical construction and design is required
 
  
- Working knowledge and experience in the following related to Lighting
 
  
    + design, construction and maintenance
  
    + Southern Company specifications and construction standards
  
    + safe and efficient work practices and methods for tools and mechanized equipment used for the construction and maintenance of lighting
  
    + first responder to outages with ability to diagnose and develop repair plans
  
    + environmental requirements and controls
  
    + NESC and NEC lighting applications
  
- Ability to project manage large projects to complete within estimated time and cost
 
  
- Ability to provide quality control of the work product of contract resources.
 
  
- Working knowledge of the MPC Distribution Safety Rule Book and SDOP
 
  
- Basic experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) using the Windows XP operating system.

- Hold contractors accountable for adhering to OSHA safety rules.
 
  
- Coordinate lighting construction and maintenance activities with focus on efficient and productive use of contract resources providing support for MPC.
 
  
- Support MPC construction crews as needed.
 
  
- Ensure compliance with the policies of the Southern Company Contracts Manual 
 
  
- Provide technical review and support for procurement and on-site delivery of related materials.
 
  
- Provide technical review of materials and construction to ensure compliance with current Southern Company Lighting design and construction standards.
 
  
- Management of warranty process
