Brief Job Overview/Summary
Under the immediate supervision of the Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation, and the overall supervision of the Executive Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation, the Head Women’s Soccer Coach is responsible for the following:
Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Direct a comprehensive and competitive Soccer program that places in the top half of the NJAC and qualifies for NCAA post season competition
- Establish and coordinate practice and competition schedules for the Soccer program
- Recruit quality student athletes in concert with the University’s overall mission; and assist with developing, implementing, and overseeing academic advising and retention programs for the Soccer student athletes
- Prepare the budget for the Soccer program working with established regulations on all expenditures; organize and administer a comprehensive fundraising program and alumni development plan
- Recommend for hire and supervise the assistant coaching staff
- Arrange the team travel and drive vans as necessary to transport the team to off-campus events. Monitor equipment and facility needs, safety standards, and inventory control
- Submit pertinent information regarding home and away contests, awards winners, eligibility, and end-of-season reports according to Athletics established protocol
- Organize and direct Soccer camps and clinics; and assist if needed with the coordination and on-site supervision of other Stockton athletic camps/clinics
- Serve as an on-site supervisor for athletic and special events as required; and on office, divisional and university-wide committees when assigned
- Stay abreast of Soccer rules; adhere to all rules and regulations of the University, Athletics, the NCAA, and the NJAC. Comply with all medical decisions/protocols relating to the Soccer team from Athletic Training Services. A coach found to be in violation of these rules and regulations may be subject to disciplinary or corrective actions including but not limited to those set forth in the NCAA enforcement procedures
- Support the Athletics and Recreation vision, mission and values and work toward the achievement of identified departmental goals; foster cooperative and supportive working relationships with the staff in the department and contribute to a positive working environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Athletics and Recreation and/or the Executive Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 3 years of collegiate coaching experience
- Valid Driver’s license
