The
Program Specialist – TULA (Trillium Ultimate Living Assistant) is responsible for the hands-on coordination, implementation, and remote support of all TULA-related activities. This role ensures that TULA devices are properly prepared, deployed, maintained, and supported in alignment with the Trillium Scope of Work.
The Program Specialist provides direct assistance to individuals, caregivers, and Easterseals PORT Health (ESPH) staff by setting up devices, troubleshooting technical issues, delivering remote monitoring, and ensuring users receive timely and effective support. This position requires strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a customer-centered approach to problem-solving and training.
The Program Specialist works collaboratively with the TULA Program Director, Trillium representatives, and ESPH teams to advance accessibility, independence, and innovation through assistive technology.
Remote Full-time Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Community-Based Position
- Regular travel throughout assigned regions for device installation, follow-up visits, user support, and training
Essential Job Functions
- Serve as the main contact for TULA device setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and user support.
- Prepare, configure, and install devices for users, providing both remote and on-site assistance.

- Manage TULA inventory, including repairs, replacements, and updates.
- Maintain accurate documentation for device setup, troubleshooting, and service requests.
- Provide training, demonstrations, and support materials for users, caregivers, and staff.
- Work with internal teams and Trillium to maintain program quality and compliance.
- Communicate technical information clearly to users with varying skill levels.
- Stay current on assistive technology trends.

What We're Looking For
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Information Technology, Rehabilitation, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with technology setup, troubleshooting, or user support; familiarity with assistive or smart-home technology preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn new software, devices, and systems.
- Excellent organizational skills for tracking inventory and documentation.
- Clear and effective communication skills for supporting users of varying technical comfort levels.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and sound judgment.
- Commitment to exceptional customer service and promoting independence through technology.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Valid, unrestricted North Carolina driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
