Summary:
The Portfolio Manager Associate supports the Asset Management Segment’s investment function by assisting with portfolio management, investment research, account administration, and client reporting. Under the guidance of senior staff, the Portfolio Manager Associate will gain exposure to investment strategy, trust account operations, compliance requirements, and client service standards. Manages a minimum of $100MM assets under management.
Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Facilitates the monitoring and management of client investment portfolios under supervision.Participate in investment research, due diligence, and model portfolio development.Support the preparation of investment performance reviews and client presentations.Learn and apply asset allocation principles, risk assessment, and investment policy guidelines.Assist with daily portfolio rebalancing and trade execution processes.Gain exposure to fiduciary investment responsibilities in trust accounts.Attend client meetings alongside senior portfolio managers to observe relationship management.Maintain accurate records of client investment directives and documentation.Develop working knowledge of trust documents, investment objectives, and regulatory requirements.Stay current with economic trends, market news, and relevant investment topics.
Preferred Education and Experience:0-2 years of relevant experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting from an accredited college.Required to obtain one of the following designations within 24 months of start date: AFIM, AIF, CIMA, or CFPAbility to read and write general reports and other correspondence, and use standard or specialized computer hardware and software packages including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS OutlookAbility to handle routine client requests and enlist Officer support/input where appropriateAbility to multi-taskDemonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to perform mathematical calculations, including computation of ratios, percentages and paymentsMust have a professional appearance and mannerAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsExpected to participate in appropriate educational classes as management requires

Work Environment:This job operates in a professional work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, monitors, mouse, keyboard, phones, printers, scanners, photocopiers, filing cabinets, calculator, and fax machines. Due to physical location of this position, phone ringing, and people conversing, it may be difficult to hear at times and therefore easily distracting.
