We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatric Services Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless coordination of psychiatric services across multiple locations, including 12 Health Services Drive (Ben Gordon Center [BGC], Community Mental Health Center) and 760 Foxpointe Drive (BHS Sycamore, Hospital Outpatient).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple teams and service lines effectively.
- Oversee operations and ensure high quality, outpatient psychiatric care at both the Ben Gordon Center (BGC, Community Mental Health Center) and Behavioral Health Services (BHS Sycamore, including a behavioral health Intensive Outpatient Program/Partial Hospitalization Program for adults and adolescents at BHS.
- Manage a diverse psychiatry team at BGC, including 3 registered nurses (RN), 2 certified nursing assistants (CNA), 2 psychiatric advanced practice registered nurses (APRN), and 3 board-certified psychiatrists.
- Supervise the psychiatry team at BHS Sycamore, which includes 4 board-certified psychiatrists, 3 APNs, and 3 RNs.
- Act as a liaison between prescribers and other clinical managers to coordinate complex cases effectively.
- Communicate via EPIC (electronic health record), phone, and in person to coordinate client care, answer questions from staff, and review client health records as needed.
- Interact with clients at BGC who require psychiatric services/medication management only and those shared with other service lines such as therapy, case management, employment, addiction, and crisis.
- Create and monitor budget, department operations, and participate in Performance Improvement projects.
- Function as CLIA Lab Director for point of care urine drug testing, in collaboration with Compliance Officer.
Background Info:
- Ben Gordon Center, a Community Mental Health Center (CMHC), remains the only site in the county providing long-lasting psychiatric injectables.
- A CMHC is an entity that provides outpatient services including specialized outpatient services for children, the elderly, individuals with chronic mental illness, and residents of the CMHC’s mental health service area who have been discharged from inpatient treatment at a mental health facility. It offers 24/7 crisis services including walk-in options. We have 3 locations for our CMHC – 12 Health Services Drive in DeKalb, 631 South 1st Street in DeKalb, and 100 S Latham St. Suite 204 in Sandwich. Our office in Sandwich is currently only open one day/month for psychiatry services.

Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s Degree in Behavior Health or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) license required.
- Five years of supervised clinical experience working in a behavioral health setting or other related field required.
- Must be licensed to practice independently; LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, APN, BSN, or Clinical Psychologist required
- OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work evening and on-call as requested.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel to and from multiple work sites.
Preferred:
- Bi-Lingual
- Experience with EPIC (EMR)
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Supervisory and/or management experience
