Job Responsibilities:
Step into a role where your expertise drives smart decisions, efficient planning, and successful project delivery.
Lead the Estimating Process
- Build accurate and consistent conceptual, detailed, and final estimates for multi‑discipline nuclear projects
- Analyze scope of documents, drawings, specifications, and constructability considerations
- Gather material pricing, vendor quotes, equipment lists, and quantity take-offs
- Apply nuclear complexity factors, unit rates, WBS structures, and AACE methodologies
- Ensure all estimates align with project schedules and cost expectations
Collaborate & Influence
- Lead estimate review sessions with project teams, engineers, and site leaders
- Partner with Project Controls to support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow development
- Strengthen relationships across the Vogtle team through clear communication and proactive engagement
Drive Project Success
- Conduct on-site walkdowns to gather scope and field conditions
- Use experience to envision and estimate conceptual projects
- Support change orders with well‑documented estimating inputs
- Provide meaningful insights that improve project cost accuracy and decision-making
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the estimating discipline
Job Requirements:
You’re detail‑oriented, technically minded, and confident in high-stakes environments. You're motivated by challenges and driven by precision — the kind of person who takes pride in getting it right.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ABET accredited) or Building Science preferred
- 3+ years of estimating experience in nuclear, industrial, or similar complex environments
- Hands‑on experience performing on-site walkdowns
- Experienced in Project Management and/or Project Controls.
- Multi‑discipline estimating experience (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, I&C)
- Proficiency with estimating software; WinEst experience a major advantage
- Prior nuclear or military nuclear experience is highly valued
Abilities & Strengths
- Able to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access
- Comfortable performing field walkdowns in industrial environments
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Highly organized, self‑driven, and capable of working independently
- Skilled at building trust and collaborating effectively with diverse teams
