Position Summary:AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center is seeking a motivated PA/APP to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team through a structured
Clinical Training Pathway designed to develop advanced surgical and peri-operative skills. This role is ideal for candidates with strong interest in CT Surgery who are eager to grow in a hands-on, highly supportive environment.
Preferred Background: - Experience on a surgical floor, surgical/CT ICU, or prior exposure to CT Surgery
- Comfort managing post-operative patients within a multidisciplinary care team
Training & Professional Development: - Comprehensive training in first assisting, endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH), and peri-operative patient management
- Structured 1-2 year development period with progressive responsibility as competencies are achieved
- Ongoing mentorship from experienced CT Surgery PAs and attending surgeons
Key Responsibilities (as competencies are met): - Participate in first assist responsibilities for adult cardiothoracic surgical procedures
- Perform (or train to perform) endoscopic vein harvesting for CABG cases
- Manage post-operative patients in the ICU, step-down, and inpatient units
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, APPs, residents, and nursing staff to support high-quality patient care
