Description POSITION SUMMARYThe Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) is a front-line nursing leader responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based patient-centered care while advancing performance across key quality and operational metrics. This role blends clinical expertise, leadership, and data analytics to drive measurable improvements in patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, and organizational goals. The CNM leads the unit in achieving excellence in quality, safety, patient experience, and operational efficiency.
The Clinical Manager supervises staff in their daily activities to ensure the delivery of care according to established departmental policies and procedures. This position assists the Clinical Director with resolving staff issues, participating in performance reviews, monitoring budgetary practices, preparing staff schedules, developing and implementing performance improvement activities and orienting new employees to the unit.
The Clinical Manager serves as a key communicator for organizational updates, policy changes and education needs. This position establishes and maintains communication with physicians and other professionals to promote mutual understanding of problems and plans of care.
QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION: - Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Master's degree is required within 3 years of hire or transfer. Current incumbents in Clinical Manager Role must enroll in a Master's program by September 2026 and completion by 12/31/29
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: - Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or multi-state license.
- American Heart Association BLS required.
- Advanced Life Support Certification, within your specialty (ACLS, PALS, or NRP) is required within 6 months of hire. Current incumbents must obtain within 6 months, by 8/1/2026.
- Approved professional nursing certification required within 1 year of hire or transfer. Current incumbents must obtain within 1 year, by 2/1/2027.
SPECIALITYEXPERIENCE ADVANCED CERTIFICATION / REQUIREMENTS Cardiovascular ICU
2-4 years critical care experience required. 2-4 years cardiovascular ICU experience preferred.
ACLS required; CCRN preferred
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience in acute care setting; 1-2 years of leadership experience or charge nurse experience required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as leadership skills required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

Morbid obese adult with all comorbid illness/conditions, including but not limited to: cardiac/cardiovascular, metabolic; renal, pulmonary, etc.
Cath Lab
Cardiac/vascular conditions and diseases including but not limited to: CAD, carotid stenosis, renal stenosis, PVD, etc.
Critical Care
Acute medical/surgical care of skeletal muscular, renal
ortho conditions and diseases including but not limited to: AMI, CAD, PVD, CVA/TIA, COPD, CHF, shock, renal failure, metabolic disorders, etc.
Behavioral Health
Behavioral health illnesses including but not limited to bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, psychosis, etc..
Dialysis
Patients with acute or chronic renal failure or chronic renal disease.
Endoscopy
Chronic pain management, endoscopic procedures of cardiovascular, GI, pulmonary conditions and disease, etc..
Emergency Department
Triage, assess and treat patients of all age presenting for emergency care for all body systems, conditions and diseases including but not limited to: coronary, pulmonary, neuro, skeletal muscular, GI/metabolic, GU/renal, GYN, integumentary, etc..
Intermediate Care
Monitored post-surgical care including but not limited to neuro, GI, GU/GYN, peripheral vascular interventions, orthopedic procedures, etc.. Medical diagnoses including but not limited to: cardiac, pulmonary, neuron, GI, VCA/TIA and renal conditions, etc..
Medical Surgical
Medical/Surgical diagnoses including but not limited to orthopedic, neuron, GI, GU/GYN, renal, metabolic, pulmonary systems and those requiring isolation/precautions.
Telemetry/Medical/Surgical
Cardiac/cardiovascular, neuro, GI conditions and diseases including not limited to: CAD, PVD, COPD, CHF, metabolic disorders, etc.
Telemetry/Stroke
Cardiac/cardiovascular, neuron, renal, GI conditions and diseases including but not limited to: CAD, PVD, CVA/TIA, COPD, CHF, metabolic disorders, etc.
Wound Care
GI, GYN/GU, integumentary conditions and diseases including but not limited to all ostomy diversion surgeries, wound care, pressure sore/ulcer etc..
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSDemonstrates the competencies as established on the Competency Validation Tool for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENTPotential for exposure to blood borne pathogens along with infectious diseases. Physical demands include but are not limited to consideration stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing heavy equipment and excessive standing and walking. Lifting approximately 25-50 lbs. frequently; lifting 50-10 lbs. with assistance occasionally.
