Job Description
The Respiratory Clinical Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
An experienced Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner, who in addition to providing direct patient care, is accountable for facilitating staff assignments, coordination and monitoring of workload and is accountable for ensuring the delivery of quality patient care and patient throughput during the assigned shift.
Responsibilities:
•In addition to providing direct patient care, is accountable for facilitating staff assignments, coordination and monitoring of workload and is accountable for ensuring the staff orientation and skills and delivery of quality patient care and patient throughput during the assigned shift.
• AARC Member
•Able to monitor quality/safety metrics
•Provide unit-based education
•Give input on Performance Evaluations
•Additional responsibilities assigned by manager
Qualifications
Required:
- 3 Years of Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or Currently Enrolled in a Program and Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Care Program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Active Illinois Respiratory Care License
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) and/or Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) and/or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - only for hospitals with NICU
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- 2 Years of Experience in a PICU/NICU
- 1 Year of Experience in Pulmonary Rehab
