Job Description
The Nutrition Operations Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Nutrition Operations Coordinator directs the day-to-day operations of 2 fueling stations and 5 fueling hubs. This role develops strategies to improve customer service and operational efficiencies. The Nutrition Operations Coordinator works within a budget to procure, manage and distribute food to collegiate student-athletes. This individual supervises and manages a workforce of students and volunteers.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees recruiting, training, scheduling and managing of student and volunteer workforce
- Manages inventory, uses forecasting tools, and creates reports of product usage
- Communicates with multiple vendors to procure product and coordinate deliveries
- Communicates with sports dietitians to best serve student-athletes
- Organizes, stocks, and distributes food products
- Follows safe food handling practices
- Follows Northwestern University Athletics and NCAA compliance expectations
- May be asked to do simple food preparation
Qualifications
Required:
- Serve Safe or comparable certification obtained within 1 month of hire
- Ability to work a non-standard workweek which may include early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
Preferred:
- Degree and/or advanced training in food service, hospitality management or a related field
- Experience in food service and inventory management
