Job Summary
Based in Ridgefield, WA with responsibility for west coast operational work performs day to day supervisory of personnel (internal and third party contractors) to include selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation. Interacts directly with customer representatives. Forecasts for manpower, materials, and services that are required for completion of project(s). Makes frequent on-site inspections to ensure operations conform to plans, and are being carried out safely, efficiently, and economically. Handles special projects, as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for driving the standard operating procedures
- Performs job walks and attends customer meetings with sales and commercial team members as required.
- Responsible for tracking crew hours and approving employee's time.
- Manages profitability while on a customer site including costs and expenses.
- Day to day management of multiple crews at multiple customer sites.
- Responsible for upselling at the customer site and assessing areas of potential opportunities to further gain business and meet customer's needs. If changes occur while on-site, the Superintendent is responsible for initiating any change orders.
- Responsible for the overall quality of the work performed on customer site including completion of all paperwork associated with specified job including pre-trip checks, field tickets, JSA's, any action cards.
- Accountable for the hands-on training of employee's as well as recommending promotions to the Site Manager.
- Manage customer expectations on-site with Company Man.
- Identify operational efficiencies and process improvements.
- Key member on the Emergency Response Team.
- Accountable for the safe work practices of our employees while on customer sites.
- Must have prior experience operating heavy machinery, i.e., front end loaders, forklifts, and material handlers and a general knowledge of diesel-powered equipment.
- Must be willing to operate heavy machinery (as detailed above).
- Mechanical aptitude and at least 5-year background in industrial work and related fields is preferred.
- Experience in groundwork/earth grading is a plus.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the Company’s MVR Requirements. CDL preferred.
