Project Coordinator (E3-6) – Transmission Project Management Organization (PMO)
The Project Coordinator – Communication serves as a strategic communicator within the Transmission Project Management Organization (PMO), responsible for developing, executing, and refining communications plans that connect project milestones, accomplishments, and upcoming initiatives and strategic priorities to internal and external stakeholders. This role ensures clarity, transparency, and alignment across the Transmission PMO, partner organizations, and senior leadership by translating complex project management concepts into clear, actionable insights. Creativity, innovation, and business acumen are essential as this role will help shape the PMO’s communication strategy during a record period of growth in Georgia. Success requires ability to work autonomously, leveraging multiple communication platforms, and crafting compelling content that informs, inspires, and drives engagement.
This position will report to the Customer Choice Manager within the Transmission PMO.
This position is located at 241 Ralph McGill Blvd in Atlanta, GA and is a hybrid role (four days in the office, one day remote).
Key Responsibilities
•Develop and implement internal communication strategies that support PMO initiatives, ensuring timely, consistent, and transparent updates to stakeholders across the project lifecycle.
•Design milestone-based communication plans to highlight key accomplishments, track progress, and flag critical milestones for strategic messaging to internal leaders at various levels.
•Collaborate with internal partner organizations to align messaging for external communications to customers and partners.
•Assist project managers in crafting clear, concise messages for project stakeholders that reinforce project objectives, timelines, and outcomes.
•Support leadership communications by developing executive-ready materials, including presentations, talking points, dashboards, and one-pagers for senior leadership updates.
•Develop and maintain an internal communication calendar aligned with stage gates, major milestones, and governance reviews; ensure proactive planning and timely delivery of communications.
•Tailor messaging by audience and leadership level defining what, when, and how information is communicated to ensure clarity and impact.
•Create standardized communication tools and templates (emails, dashboards, presentations, FAQ, infographics, etc.) to promote consistency across PMO projects.
•Track and measure communication effectiveness through KPIs such as engagement rates, leadership feedback, and milestone awareness; use insights to continuously improve communication impact.
•Collaborate with PMO teams (project managers, schedule analysts, and cost analysts) to gather accurate data for communications, translating technical information into accessible, plain-language summaries.
•Work with leadership to develop internal communication strategies that address upcoming PMO changes and initiatives that impact the PMO employees and/or partner organizations.
•Champion creativity and innovation in messaging and presentation formats, leveraging multiple platforms (Microsoft 365, PowerBI, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, etc.) to deliver engaging content.
•Ensure compliance with PMO governance standards, maintaining communication artifacts, stakeholder maps, and distribution lists in designated repositories.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Certification Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Business, Project Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
•Minimum of three years of experience in project communications, project management, or technical communications
•Electric Utility experience strongly preferred.
•Experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project (ability to read and interpret schedules) strongly preferred.
•Familiarity with risk registers and stage-gate governance a plus
•Exposure to change management framework (e.g., ADKAR) and executive communications preferred.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Create Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent tools for visual storytelling a plus.

•Collaborative and service-oriented approach, comfortable engaging with cross-functional teams and leadership to refine messaging and ensure consistency.
•Ability to translate complex technical or project data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
•Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel), graphic tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) and PowerBI for basic dashboard storytelling.
