Basic Function:
Perform RNG gathering system and plant operation duties. Inspect, maintain and repair equipment and facilities associated with operating RNG gathering system, compression, chillers, separators, process skids, leachate pumps, TOX, and emergency gas pipeline locating. Perform relief operator duties, as needed, for gas plant operations. Duties involve working around high pressure natural gas and leachate systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Operate gathering system and auxiliary equipment at assigned facility to attain specific pressures and flow rates. Adjust equipment to maintain maximum operating efficiency of the leaching facilities.
•Legibly and accurately record all equipment operating data; accurately prepare electronic reports needed to satisfy regulatory and operational requirements (i.e., daily, weekly, monthly, annual, etc.).
•Must develop a working knowledge of landfill gas well operations and be able to assist with, and/or, supervise well development projects, and maintain accurate records and daily reports for same work.
•Schedule and perform minor repairs to equipment as needed; coordinate major repairs or equipment/facility inspections by third parties.
•Conduct required inspections of leachate equipment and systems. Report verbally and in writing to Supervisor any malfunctions or symptoms of failure.
•Operate and maintain valves and valve operators of various types and sizes throughout plant and pipeline system. Respond to One Calls as needed. Conduct maintenance and inspections on pipeline facilities or other plant equipment when requested.
•Assists other personnel in performing various tasks as requested.
•Briefs Supervisor and appropriate personnel of current operating conditions, difficulties encountered and known unusual conditions in the performance of leaching and/or plant equipment.
•Participates in job and/or technical training programs and cross-training assignments to improve knowledge and skills.
•Accept changes in work schedule, available for shift work, subject to call-outs as determined by Supervisor.
•Operate gas compression, processing, and associated equipment as required.
•Comply and become familiar with Company policies and procedures as well as applicable State and Federal safety and environmental regulations.
•Actively participates in the safety program and maintains tools, equipment, and work area in a safe and orderly manner.
•Promotes relations with customers, producers, and landowners, and cooperates with other departments.
•The person in this position is required to work for extended periods of time in varied weather conditions. May be required to work periodically away from assigned location.
Education and Experience:
•Work experience with the following:
•RNG well construction, completion, Vacuum gathering systems, RNG well balancing RNG well fields to maintain gas quality going to the RNG plant.
•Maintaining equipment and operations associated with RNG gathering and processing.
•High School Graduate or GED
Skills:
•Mathematical proficiency and legible handwriting for the purpose of report preparation to outside agencies and Management
•Ability to prepare written reports in a clear and concise manner
•Basic understanding of computers
Certifications/Licenses:
•Valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements:
•Lift and carry medium to heavy weight items. Reach overhead for items, stoop, bend, and twist while working. Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force frequently.
•Other physical activities include crouching, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to operate a computer.
