Job Summary:
The Human Resources Intern provides administrative and project support to the HR team while gaining hands-on exposure across multiple areas of HR. This internship is ideal for someone exploring a career in Human Resources who is not yet sure which specialty to pursue and wants to experience a variety of work with our team (such as recruiting support, onboarding and employee lifecycle processes, HR operations, employee engagement, and workplace compliance). The intern will learn through guided projects, day-to-day team support, and opportunities to shadow and collaborate with different HR team members.
Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field preferred
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support recruiting coordination by helping schedule interviews, preparing candidate communications, and maintaining recruiting trackers.
- Assist with onboarding and employee lifecycle tasks, including preparing new-hire materials, drafting welcome communications, and organizing orientation logistics.
- Maintain accurate HR records by updating files and/or HRIS data, tracking required documents, and following established confidentiality practices.
- Support employee engagement and HR communications by drafting and formatting announcements, creating simple reference guides, and assisting with event or program logistics.
- Provide basic HR support by responding to routine questions, routing requests to the right HR contact, and documenting follow-ups as needed.
- Contribute to HR projects (e.g., process updates, audit/checklist prep, file documentation) and attend team meetings/shadowing to learn how HR decisions are made.
- Collaborate with multiple HR team members to complete assigned tasks across different HR focus areas and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Working Conditions:
- This position is hybrid, with a mix of in-office and remote work based on team needs and the intern’s schedule.
- Occasional travel may be required for training or meetings.
- Standard work hours will align primarily to Eastern Time, with occasional flexibility to support teammates in other U.S. time zones.
- Some tasks may require occasional work outside standard hours, and advance notice will be provided when possible.
