Amazon is seeking a self-motivated, results-driven, and creative communications professional to join its Stores Communications team in Seattle, WA. As a Communications Specialist, you will develop and execute strategic communications programs designed to elevate Amazon’s transportation business lines including Amazon Freight, Amazon Shipping, and Amazon Air Cargo.
Amazon Freight, Amazon Shipping, and Amazon Air Cargo power how businesses move products and materials around the world. In this role, you will lead PR strategy for launches and momentum moments, drive proactive engagement with key trade media, and support high-impact industry events. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Public Policy, and other partners to deliver clear, coordinated communications that advance Amazon’s transportation businesses.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring B2B PR experience, ideally in logistics or retail communications, along with a strong instinct for storytelling and a proven ability to develop and execute impactful PR strategies. You’ll proactively identify timely media opportunities and you’re comfortable collaborating across multiple teams and agencies. You’ll thrive in fast-paced environments, consistently delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines, with strong writing skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Key job responsibilities
• Drive proactive media coverage and manage reactive media inquiries for Amazon’s transportation businesses.
• Provide ongoing PR support to the business, including everything from program changes to issues and escalations.
• Coordinate with third-party business partners on upcoming announcements and other joint initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams and agency partners to develop and execute strategies that deliver on objectives and measure the impact of communications programs.
• Develop, secure approvals for, and execute communications plans and press materials in support of launches and innovations.
• Engage and build relationships with reporters from key media outlets.
• Serve as a spokesperson for the business, as needed.
• Stay current on industry trends, news, and other relevant topics.
