The Sustainability Finance team is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead financial strategy and controllership for Amazon's Carbon Neutralization program. This role partners directly with business teams to define investment strategy, build financial models to evaluate carbon neutralization pathways, drive free cash flow optimization, and develop scalable frameworks for capital allocation decisions across a rapidly evolving carbon marketplace. The Senior Finance Manager must be a skilled communicator who drives strategy through both formal and informal channels, with a proven track record of influencing senior executives and delivering results across geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams. They will serve as a trusted financial advisor, consistently meeting commitments while enabling business partners to achieve their objectives.
The Senior Finance Manager will also bring experience in designing and implementing financial policies, controls, and processes that safeguard the integrity of Amazon's financial reporting while driving organizational efficiency and scalability.
Key job responsibilities
- Own financial model for neutralization pathway evaluation
- Manages end-to-end P&L and reporting on business performance, including building long-range financial forecasts that integrate plan data with actuals to track progress against commitments
- Partner with Sustainability, Science, Policy, and Operations teams to define and pressure-test strategy through rigorous financial analysis
- Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with VP+ stakeholders, providing clear narratives on financial performance, risks, and opportunities
- Design and maintain controllership mechanisms for carbon marketplace transactions
- Develop scalable capital allocation frameworks to evaluate and prioritize investment decisions
- Drive free cash flow optimization by identifying cost efficiencies and improving financial processes
- Design and enforce financial policies and controls that protect the integrity of Amazon's financial records and increase organizational efficiency
