Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager to lead North America Logistics operations within AWS Cloud Logistics (ACL). This role owns the end-to-end physical supply chain for AWS hardware—from vendor origins through customs brokerage, warehousing, and multi-modal transportation (ocean, air, and over-the-road)—delivering critical infrastructure components to manufacturing sites and data centers across the continent.
You will build and scale a world-class logistics organization that ensures AWS hardware arrives on time, in full, and at optimal cost to support the fastest-growing cloud infrastructure on the planet. You will operate at the intersection of supply chain strategy, operational excellence, and cross-functional influence to enable AWS capacity expansion
Key job responsibilities
Warehousing & Distribution
• Lead strategy and operations for the North America warehouse network supporting AWS hardware staging, kitting, configuration, and distribution
• Drive capacity planning, lease negotiations, and facility expansion/rationalization decisions
• Optimize warehouse utilization, inventory accuracy, and throughput to support manufacturing and data center delivery timelines
• Implement warehouse management systems (WMS), automation, and process improvements to scale operations
• Manage 3PL relationships, SLAs, and cost performance across the distribution network
Transportation — Ocean, Air & Over-the-Road
• Own multi-modal transportation strategy and execution across ocean freight, air cargo, and domestic trucking (FTL/LTL) for AWS hardware shipments
• Manage carrier procurement, rate negotiations, and mode optimization to balance cost, speed, and reliability
• Oversee first-mile (vendor to port), international linehaul (ocean/air), and last-mile delivery to manufacturing sites and data centers
• Drive transportation visibility, track & trace, and exception management capabilities
• Build contingency and surge capacity plans for peak demand, new site launches, and supply chain disruptions
Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence
• Develop and own the 3-year North America logistics strategy aligned to AWS capacity expansion roadmap
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of logistics managers and program managers
• Own P&L accountability for NA logistics spend (transportation, warehousing, brokerage)
• Establish and report on KPIs: on-time delivery, cost per unit shipped, transit time, inventory turns, and customer satisfaction
• Drive mechanisms (WBR, MBR, QBR) for operational cadence, escalation, and continuous improvement
• Partner cross-functionally with Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, and Data Center Operations
