Amazon MGM Studios is seeking an experienced International Theatrical PR Specialist to lead publicity strategy and execution across Latin America, Australia/New Zealand, and Asia Pacific markets. This role serves as the critical connective tissue between the hub office PR leadership and local market teams — ensuring that global campaign vision translates into culturally resonant, strategically precise execution in each territory. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of international media landscapes, strong relationships with press and talent representatives, and the ability to navigate the distinct cultural, editorial, and operational nuances of each market they oversee.
This is a role for someone who thinks strategically and executes flawlessly — someone who can develop a festival strategy for a prestige title, manage a multi-market press tour across three continents, and brief a local PR team on campaign messaging with equal confidence and precision.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop and execute international theatrical PR strategies across LatAm, ANZ, and APAC markets,
ensuring campaigns are tailored to local media landscapes, cultural nuances, and audiences while
maintaining alignment with global campaign vision
• Manage and provide strategic oversight of international PR schedules including embargo timelines, asset launch cadences, review strategies, and market-specific rollout plans for each title on the theatrical slate
• Adapt global messaging and positioning for local market relevance
• Develop market-specific press strategies that leverage each territory's unique media ecosystem — including traditional media and social editorial voices
• Monitor and analyze evolving media landscapes across all territories, identifying emerging outlets,
shifting consumption patterns, and new platforms that present opportunities for campaign reach
and differentiation
• Track campaign performance across territories, reporting on coverage quality, volume, sentiment,
and identifying opportunities to optimize strategy in real time
• Manage international festival PR strategy for titles premiering at international festivals in concert with territory leads
• Identify, track and capitalize on cultural tentpoles, national holidays, and market-specific moments that create organic opportunities for campaign visibility in each territory
• Manage end-to-end planning and execution of international press activity (P.A. tours) across LatAm, ANZ, and APAC markets — including schedule development, logistics coordination, market prioritization, and day-of execution oversight
• Oversee in-market activations, press events, and promotional appearances ensuring quality,
messaging consistency, and brand standards are maintained across all territories
• Coordinate with international marketing, distribution, and events teams to ensure PR activations are integrated with broader market campaigns and theatrical release strategies
• Serve as primary liaison with talent representatives (agents, managers, publicists) regarding international PR strategy — communicating market opportunities, schedule requirements, and priority asks
• Develop and present international press tour proposals to executive and talent teams
• Create talent and filmmaker briefs on market-specific cultural context, key press relationships, and strategic priorities ahead of international engagements
• Serve as the primary communication bridge between hub office PR leadership and local market PR teams (both internal and agency) ensuring campaign priorities, messaging, and strategic direction are clear
• Translate hub office campaign vision into actionable briefings for local market teams, providing context, priorities, and creative latitude appropriate to each territory
• Ensure local market teams have all necessary assets, messaging documents, talking points, and
approvals with sufficient lead time to execute effectively
• Facilitate regular communication between hub office and markets through structured check-ins,
written updates, and responsive day-to-day coordination
• Develop and manage international critics strategy for each title — identifying priority critics and outlets in each territory, timing review access for maximum impact, and managing embargo
compliance across markets
• Manage asset embargo timelines across territories ensuring trailer launches, still drops, clip
releases, and exclusive content are coordinated globally without market conflicts
• Develop PR strategies that encompass both traditional media and digital/social editorial platforms
• Stay ahead of evolving digital media landscapes across territories, briefing hub office leadership on new platforms, shifting audience behaviors, and emerging opportunities
• Brief agencies thoroughly on each campaign's strategy, messaging, target audiences, and success
metrics — providing all context needed for effective local execution and track progress, address challenges, and ensure deliverables are on schedule
