Ring's mission is to make neighborhoods safer. We strive to make safety and peace of mind accessible to everyone and empower communities to work together for one another.
We're looking for a passionate, hard-working, and talented Builder II to join our team. In this role, you'll own features and workstreams end-to-end, from concept to launch, across both backend and frontend, while ensuring the highest level of quality for your team's deliverables. The ideal candidate operates with independence in ambiguous spaces, brings strong technical ability and project management skills, and multiplies the effectiveness of those around them. You'll be the kind of engineer others come to for help, helping shape how your team works, not just what it delivers. Builder II's are also fluent AI practitioners: you don't just use AI tools, you build with AI, creating automations and workflows that others adopt. You're developing deep expertise in at least one domain, curious about the frontier, and bring innovative thinking, effective engineering leadership, and strong communication skills to a team-oriented environment.
Key job responsibilities
* Design and implement features in web applications, utilized by Neighbors, Public Safety, and Ring users with AI embedded from the start and build reusable automations, agents, or tools, that your peers adopt
* Work with other team members to investigate and document design approaches and evaluate technical feasibility
* Ensure the performance and responsiveness of applications
* Help maintain code quality and operational efficiency
* Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
* Promotes robust, maintainable code and clear documentation
* Is comfortable with proactive outward communication and technical leadership and never shies away from a challenge
