At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we design, build, and operate the global infrastructure that powers the cloud. Our team manages one of the most complex supply chains in the world to support large-scale data center hardware deployments.
We are seeking a Supply Chain Product Manager to ensure critical semiconductor components are ready to support new hardware launches. This role focuses on aligning component readiness with product timelines, identifying and mitigating supply risks, and enabling scalable, resilient component selection.
Key job responsibilities
1. Product Roadmap Alignment
Partner with hardware engineering teams to ensure component readiness aligns with product development timelines. Track component level readiness across development phases (prototype to production) and identify gaps early. Drive alignment on mitigation plans to support successful product launches at scale.
2. Early Design Influence
Engage with engineering teams early in the concept or design phase for component selection decisions. Provide input on supply resilience, scalability, and qualification timelines. Help ensure designs are optimized for multi-sourcing and long-term supply continuity.
3. BOM Risk Assessment & Mitigation (NPI to MP) including New, Unique, Difficult and Different (NUDD)
Analyze bill of materials (BOM) to identify supply risks, including single/sole sourcing, supplier capacity constraints, manufacturing and technology dependencies, and lifecycle and end-of-life exposure. Work cross-functionally to drive mitigation plans and track progress to closure.
4. Alternative Sourcing
Owner of identifying high risk components, driving multiple source selection from cradle to grave in NUDD process. Partner with engineering and quality teams to enable early qualification of alternate components. Ensure alternative solutions are ready ahead of key development milestones. Resolve issues impacting product readiness.
5. Risk Visibility & Reporting
Develop clear visibility into component-level risks and mitigation status. Communicate updates on key risks and escalation items to stakeholders.
