Build the future of finance at the center of Amazon's largest business.
Stores Tech Finance FP&A owns the financial narrative for 19,000+ engineers and $3.8B in operating expenses across eCommerce Foundation, Shopping, and Stores Economics & Science—the technology backbone of Amazon Stores. We're not a traditional finance team. We deploy AI and automation to eliminate manual work, deliver real-time insights to SVP/VP leaders, and directly shape how Amazon invests in technology.
We're looking for a Finance Manager who wants to operate at the intersection of strategic finance and emerging AI capabilities—someone who sees FP&A not as a reporting function, but as an engine for driving business outcomes at scale.

Why This Role, Why Now?
We're in the middle of a deliberate shift: from transactional reporting to strategic business partnership. Our 2026 goal is to reduce manual close work by 40% and redeploy that time into insights that influence investment priorities. You'll own that transformation alongside a team that's already proving what AI-augmented finance looks like.
What makes this role different:
• AI-first FP&A: You'll use and build upon LLM-powered workflows, automated variance analysis, and AI-generated executive commentary.
• Massive scope, lean team: You'll own consolidation, analysis, and reporting across three Worldwide Stores level organizations. Direct exposure to SVP/VP decision-making, not buried layers below.
• Build, don't just run: This isn't a maintain-the-spreadsheet role. You'll design dashboards, create AI-assisted planning tools, and define the metrics that run a multi-billion-dollar business.
Key job responsibilities
• Own the FP&A heartbeat: Lead end-to-end financial planning, close, and reporting for Stores Tech Finance—monthly close, quarterly Guidance, annual planning cycles—supporting SVP of eCF, Shopping, and SEAS.
• Drive planning cycles: Project-manage cross-group forecasting mechanisms and consolidate financial narratives across eCF, Shopping, and SEAS; deliver executive-ready variance analysis and forward-looking insights to Worldwide Amazon Stores leadership
• Build AI-augmented workflows: Identify, pilot, and scale AI/automation solutions for repetitive FP&A tasks—commentary generation, variance analysis, anomaly detection, and executive reporting
• Elevate strategic partnership: Move beyond reporting to influence decisions through proactive insights, financial modeling, and data-driven recommendations at the VP/SVP level
• Design for scale: Partner with BI and technical teams to build self-service dashboards, standardized metrics, and reporting solutions that reduce cycle time without proportional headcount
• Write for executives: Author VP and SVP-level documents (6-pagers, QBR narratives, Flash updates) that tell the business story with clarity and precision
• Lead special projects: Drive process redesign, automation pilots, and AI integration that push FP&A forward
A day in the life
You start your morning reviewing AI-generated variance summaries and refining the executive narrative for the upcoming business review. Mid-morning, you're partnering with a VP to model the financial impact of a headcount reallocation. After lunch, you're working with the BI team to deploy a new dashboard that replaces a three-hour manual process. By end of day, you've shaped how leadership thinks about a $200MM investment.
This role rewards curiosity, speed, and ownership. You'll operate under tight deadlines with competing priorities, but you'll have the tools, autonomy, and leadership exposure to make outsized impact.
