Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
Export Control : This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed.
We're looking for a Technical Program Manager to drive cross-functional programs across our productivity platform portfolio. You'll own the roadmap execution for platform migrations, security compliance initiatives, and tooling integrations that directly impact Leo's ability to ship satellites. This role requires someone who can operate at the intersection of infrastructure, security, and end-user experience — translating technical complexity into actionable plans and driving them to completion across multiple stakeholder teams.
Key job responsibilities
- Platform migrations & upgrades — Plan and execute major version upgrades across the Atlassian stack (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo Data Center), coordinating change windows, testing, rollback plans, and stakeholder communications across 50+ consuming teams.
- Security & compliance programs — Drive export classification automation (LPA) rollouts, CVE remediation campaigns, and access governance improvements across all managed tools in GovCloud.
- Cross-team integration — Partner with Leo engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and security teams to gather requirements, prioritize platform capabilities, and deliver tooling solutions that remove friction from their workflows.
- Operational excellence — Define and track SLAs, drive incident response improvements, own runbook development, and ensure patching/maintenance cadences are met without impacting production teams.
- Roadmap & prioritization — Maintain and communicate the ALPEAS program roadmap; make tradeoff decisions balancing security mandates, user experience, operational burden, and resource constraints.
- Stakeholder communication — Write Leo-wide comms for major changes, present at org reviews, and serve as the primary point of contact for platform-related escalations.
About the team
