Job Summary
The HR Business Partner supports daily human resources operations for a manufacturing facility that is experiencing capacity enhancements. This role serves as the first point of contact for employees and supervisors, providing administrative and operational HR support across staffing, onboarding, employee relations, training coordination, and compliance. The position plays a key role in supporting workforce growth, high‑volume hiring, and maintaining positive employee relations in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support high‑volume hourly hiring associated with production lines
- Coordinate interviews, background checks, drug screens, and pre‑employment requirements
- Conduct new hire orientations and assist with onboarding and paperwork
- Partner with production leadership to ensure timely staffing to meet operational needs
- Serve as a first‑level HR contact for employees regarding policies, attendance, benefits, and general HR questions
- Assist with employee relations issues, escalating concerns as appropriate
- Help track attendance, corrective actions, and employee documentation
- Support open‑door processes and reinforce a positive workplace culture
- Coordinate training schedules for new hires and cross‑training for existing employees
- Assist leadership with tracking completion of required training
- Maintain accurate personnel files and HRIS records
- Support compliance with company policies, labor laws, and safety requirements
- Assist with workers’ compensation paperwork, leave requests, and timekeeping questions
- Work closely with supervisors and plant leadership to support employee needs
- Participate in HR initiatives related to plant start‑up, line expansion, or workforce planning
- Provide administrative support for HR programs, engagement activities, and communications
Education & Experience Requirements
Required
- Associate’s degree or equivalent HR/manufacturing experience
- 1–3 years of HR, administrative, or manufacturing support experience
- Experience working with hourly manufacturing employees preferred
- Basic knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and employee documentation
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication skills and professional discretion
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- Experience supporting high‑volume hiring or plant expansions
- Familiarity with HRIS and timekeeping systems
Work Environment
- Onsite manufacturing plant environment
- Must be able to walk the production floor and support multiple shifts as needed
- Occasional off‑shift support may be required during start‑up or hiring surges
