The North American Stores Design (NASD) team is seeking customer-obsessed designers who have a passion for creating best-in-class, customer facing experiences. Come join the Home Innovation Team (HIT) and help us build the future of how hundreds of millions of customers discover, customize, and purchase products on Amazon. You will be a design owner, responsible for delivering complex end-to-end experiences while using data to advocate for strategic initiatives that put the customer first.
You will take on vision work that defines what shopping looks like years out — partnering with product teams to ensure your vision delivers the inspirational, engaging experiences that will shape the future of Amazon. You'll work closely with product and engineering to build roadmaps, set design strategy across multiple programs, and deliver experiences from early concept through launch.
While HIT is your home base, you'll flex into high-priority projects across North American Stores when the business calls for it — from AI-powered shopping experiences to complex customization flows, designing patterns and frameworks that scale.
We are an AI-forward team. We have incorporated AI tools into how we design, and we invest time in building our own — tools that help us step out of our swim lanes and evolve the product development cycle. We seek out designers who want to blur the lines of the traditional Product, Engineering, and Design pillars and help us define new ways of working.
Key job responsibilities
• Design solutions for complex design and technical problems where product strategy is not fully defined
• Create conceptual sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes using AI tools
• Collaborate effectively across diverse teams and disciplines to drive alignment and efficiency
• Build and maintain the AI tooling the design team runs on — agents, skills, and workflows — and drive adoption
• Develop and improve design patterns, standards, and processes that scale for your team
• Lead brainstorming sessions and present at cross-team reviews to demonstrate features and drive design decisions
• Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data (metrics, usability studies) to inform product-level customer experience decisions
• Work closely with engineering to incorporate capabilities and constraints of the technology stack
• Balance short- and long-term design requirements against engineering constraints
