We are seeking a visionary Lead Concept Industrial Designer to translate the Design Director’s aesthetic vision into the form language and unified physical identity of our next-generation robotic platforms. You will own early 2D/3D ideation, volumetric packaging, and proportional development—working at high velocity to explore, iterate, and define what our robots look and feel like before handing off to technical surfacing.
Key job responsibilities
- Rapid 3D Form & Volume Exploration: Quickly rough out, test, and iterate on complex multi-part robotic enclosures, articulating fairings, and structural chassis using Rhino, SubD, Alias Concept, or Blender.
- Unified Architecture: Establish a cohesive visual brand language across the entire robot —ensuring seamless aesthetic and proportional transitions between moving parts.
- Dynamic Articulation & Clearances: Explore and resolve how physical panels interact, reveal internal mechanisms, and clear dynamic ranges of motion.
- Design-to-Surfacing Handshake: Deliver organized, proportion-locked concept CAD envelopes (SubD / clean NURBS) with clear design intent, character lines, and highlight priorities to the Technical Surface Designer.
- Cross-Functional Synthesis: Collaborate closely with Mechanical Engineering, Motion/Robotics, and Hardware leadership to wrap high-density motor packs, cooling ducts, battery modules, and sensor arrays into an appealing, functional envelope.
