About the Internship
AbilityLinks is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grant Intern to support our grant research and fundraising efforts. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit development, grant writing, research, communications, or fundraising.
The Grant Intern will work closely with the AbilityLinks team to identify potential funding opportunities, assist with grant applications, organize grant-related information, and help strengthen our overall grant strategy.
Responsibilities may include:
- Researching foundations, corporations, and other potential grant opportunities
- Identifying grants that align with AbilityLinks’ mission and programs
- Assisting with drafting and editing grant applications, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials
- Gathering organizational information, statistics, and program details needed for applications
- Tracking grant deadlines, application requirements, submissions, and follow-up dates
- Maintaining organized records of current and prospective grant opportunities
- Researching funders and their giving priorities
- Supporting grant reporting and other fundraising-related projects as needed
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong writing, research, and communication skills
- Is organized and detail-oriented
- Is comfortable conducting online research
- Can manage deadlines and work independently
- Is willing to learn and take initiative
- Has an interest in nonprofit work, fundraising, grant writing, communications, or a related field
- Has experience with Microsoft Office or similar programs
Previous grant writing experience is helpful but not required.
Internship Details
- Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week
- Length: 3–4 months
- Schedule: Flexible hours
- Compensation: Unpaid internship
- Experience: Hands-on experience with nonprofit grant research, writing, fundraising, and development
