Job Summary
Due to our continued expansion of our established and highly successful business, we have an exciting opportunity for a HIAB Operator / Lorry Mounted Crane driver to join our growing operations team who provide Matting access solutions throughout the UK to support and deliver critical contracts.

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for transporting our Mats safely and efficiently to sites. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to drive a W&D and operate a HIAB crane. As a W&D driver you will play a crucial role in the operations team and deliver a high-class service on the installation and recovery of our Trackway throughout the UK, this includes nights away in your truck (not sharing with others), and you are given a night out allowance.
The Successful Applicant Will
- Safely operate HIAB or similar lorry-mounted cranes to lift, load, move and offload our trackway panels.
- Complete vehicle and crane pre-use checks, routine operator maintenance and basic defect reporting in line with company procedures and legislation.
- Secure loads correctly using appropriate lifting accessories, ensuring safe working loads are not exceeded and all relevant lifting plans and instructions are followed, must be comfortable using ratchet straps.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate paperwork, delivery notes, timesheets and any digital records as required.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Ability to follow exact direction.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of hand tools.
- Must be able to adhere to all Health and Safety procedures and rules.
- Must have good interpersonal skills required to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (day, night, occasional weekends).
- Construction and Transmission & Distribution experience preferred.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check and drug/alcohol screen/physical.
- Reliable and trustworthy, good timekeeper, able to use their own initiative and highly motivated.
Full training will be provided, with development opportunities and ability to progress within the company.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, plus overtime opportunities paid at time in a half and double time, night out allowance, plus other benefits.

Requirements
Applicants must have a current HGV Class 1 licence.
HIAB experience with ALLMI card preferred, but training can be provided for the right candidates.
Proven HGV driving experience, ideally at least 1 year driving goods vehicles commercially.
Strong understanding of UK road networks and good geographical knowledge of the UK.
