Do you love hands-on logistics and working with technology before it hits the shelves? Amazon's Device Management Team (DMT) is looking for a self-motivated Device Specialist to join our Seattle operations, the team that ensures every prototype, beta unit, and production device across Amazon's entire consumer hardware portfolio gets where it needs to go.
- You'll work directly with physical devices daily, packaging, scanning, distributing, and coordinating shipments across buildings and around the world
- You'll support programs like Echo, Kindle, Ring, Fire TV, Eero, and Kuiper from earliest prototypes through mass production
- You'll be part of a small, high-impact team where your work is visible to senior leadership and directly tied to product launch success
- You'll have real ownership, managing your domain end-to-end, solving problems proactively, and building processes that scale as device volume grows
We need someone who thrives in a fast-paced, physical environment, can adapt on the fly when priorities shift, and takes pride in being the person others count on. If you want a role where no two days look the same and the tech in your hands hasn't been announced yet, this is it.
Key job responsibilities
This role requires daily hands-on work with physical devices, packaging, scanning, labeling, and distributing units across multiple buildings on campus. You'll be on your feet, moving between sites to meet program teams, deliver devices, and coordinate pickups throughout the day.
Core responsibilities include:
- Device fulfillment: Process allocation requests, pick and pack devices, prepare shipments, and assemble controlled return kits to meet same-day or next-day deadlines
- Inventory management: Receive incoming devices, scan into tracking systems, audit stock levels, and flag discrepancies before they become problems
- Cross-site coordination: Deliver and collect devices across buildings, coordinating handoffs with program managers and lab teams on tight timelines
- Triage and adaptability: Respond to urgent requests, troubleshoot delivery exceptions, and reprioritize on the fly when launch schedules shift or volume spikes hit
- Process improvement: Identify bottlenecks in day-to-day operations and propose solutions — better labeling systems, smarter routing, streamlined handoff procedures
The ideal candidate is someone who can see around corners, anticipating what's needed before being asked, adapting to shifting priorities, and proactively solving problems rather than waiting for direction. Physical presence and reliability are non-negotiable; our customers depend on devices arriving on time, every time.
A day in the life
Your day starts at standup, syncing with the team on what's shipping, what's arriving, and what needs attention. From there, you're processing device allocation requests, coordinating shipments with program teams, and triaging customer inquiries through SIM tickets. You might prep controlled device return kits, troubleshoot a delivery exception, or update logistics dashboards to keep leadership informed. No two days look the same, volume spikes with product launches and beta builds keep things dynamic. You're equal parts problem-solver, logistics coordinator, and process builder, with real ownership over how Seattle operations run.
About the team
The Device Management Team (DMT) is the operational backbone of Amazon's consumer devices portfolio. We ensure every prototype, test unit, and production device — across Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, Ring, Eero, Kuiper, and more — gets to the right place, at the right time. We're a 10-person team spanning Seattle, Munich, and Chennai who thrive on solving logistics puzzles at scale. Our culture values builders over operators, we invent tools, automate workflows, and own our domains end-to-end. With work visible to high level leadership, the bar is high and the impact is real.
