The Identity Candidates and Comparison (IAC&C) team builds and operates systems and services that is responsible for establishing product identity and attributes which lights up product detail page, supply chain and fulfillment use cases across all marketplaces. It has two main engineering focus areas: 1) the Identity Comparison Engine, which compares two representations of an item identity to determine if they represent the same thing in just a few milliseconds; 2) the Identity Subsetting, which takes identity representation from incoming contributions and identifies potential product candidates that match the incoming contribution; and the Product-External Identifiers mappings, which maintain and provide mapping between products in the catalog and external Identifiers like GTIN(s).
The IAC&C team supports key programs like, Identity Mutation Prevention, Identity Seller friction reduction, Matching Platform Evolution, and Identity Consistency between 1P vendors and 3P sellers. The portfolio of services and products we own directly impacts both seller and buyer experiences. Being the world’s largest product catalog with billions of products, and billions of transactions per day the scale of our services support is massive.

The SDE2 is responsible for highly ambiguous and challenging problems at a global scale. You will be responsible for design, development and end to end delivery of software applications. You will influence technical direction, drive operational excellence best practices and maintain quality on team deliverables.
