Job Summary:
The Project Control Intern will support and learn key processes related to Manufacturing Project Management, Project Planning, and Logistics. This role will assist in managing schedule milestones, project set up, and general coordination in the ERP system, and supporting other Project Management activities with a goal of maintaining scope, schedule, and budget for manufacturing. Additionally, the intern will work with production schedulers to gain hands-on experience in scheduling from a materials planning perspective. This internship offers broad exposure across Manufacturing, Logistics, Scheduling, and Planning functions, providing a strong foundation for future career growth in these areas.
Core Position Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintain and track project plans and schedules on behalf of Production Project Managers using various systems to ensure project deadlines are met, and manage issues to resolution
- Maintain Activity and Customer Order Dates, Notes, and communicate changes to the Production Project Manager on a daily basis in IFS (ERP System)
- Provide responsive support to Project Manager email and phone requests, and engage with cross-functional teams to facilitate communication and coordination across the organization
- Coordinate activities with various organizations including Accounting, Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, external vendors, project teams, and support project financial controls
- Gather and report on cost information and schedule health on active projects
Core Position Requirements:
- Must be self-directed and able to take on projects independently or within a team
- Ability to document processes and effectively communicate across several levels of the organization from shop floor operators to upper management
- Strong Microsoft skills including Word and Excel
- Experience with ERP software is plus
- Project Management experience is a plus
- Engineering experience is a plus
Additional Position Requirements:
Occasional overnight travel may be required for training or other needs
Frequent travel within 200 miles is possible
Moving materials and equipment that weigh ~40lbs
Manual dexterity to operate digital equipment, including computers and machine controllers.
Exposure to and requirement to work on or around industrial equipment including switchgear/switchboards, Diesel and Gas generators, outdoors, around metal welding, forming, cutting and other industrial processes.
Qualifications:
- Student or recent graduate with BS/MS degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Project Management, or related field
- Legally authorized to work in the US on an on-going basis without company sponsorship
- Valid driver’s license
