RAN Service Technician
JOB SUMMARY
The RAN Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance (both reactive and preventive) and project support on the Southern Linc's LTE voice and data network. These systems are installed, maintained, and repaired in accordance with established standards, service levels, operational processes, and applicable work agreements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Two-year degree (college/technical/vocational) or equivalent military training or equivalent hands-on experience in electronics/telecommunications is required.
- Working knowledge of radio communication systems. FCC or equivalent license for radio repair is preferred.
- Ability to pass a CMV DOT physical
- Understanding of the 4G LTE wireless data and voice network.
- Ability to logically troubleshoot and repair hardware and software associated with LTE antennas, lines (both fiber and power), radios, controllers, and alarming systems
- Ability to logically troubleshoot hydrogen fuel cells, generators, automatic transfer switches, dc plants, batteries, hvac units, hvac controllers, distributed antenna systems, and bi-directional amplifiers
- Ability to find and remediate RF interference
- Ability to tow and setup mobile assets such as COWs, SOWs, and GOATs under austere conditions
- Demonstrated personal computer skills
- Ability to work independently, self-starter with good time management skills.
- Ability to interface with, direct and/or coordinate various first responder critical customers and contractors as needed.
- Must have good verbal and written communications skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the installation, maintenance (both reactive and preventive) and project support on the Southern Linc’s LTE voice and data network.
- Responsible for participating in 24x7 on-call procedures/operations.
- Responsible for interfacing with customers to either install LTE solutions or determine and correct issues affecting the customers LTE service
- Responsible for interfacing with and coordination of contractors and/or vendors.
- Responsible for interfacing with the internal business partner, vendor, and contractor groups related to problems and installations as appropriate.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to billing and performance processes and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate equipment inventories and documentation of assigned sites.
- Responsible for installing standard, endorsed, or certified off the shelf software and/or hardware devices.
