Southern Company Talent Acquisition – Campus Recruiting organization is excited to announce an opening for an enthusiastic full-time Campus Recruiter to support our dynamic campus recruiting efforts.
As a Campus Recruiter, you will be instrumental in attracting and hiring top talent from universities and colleges. In this role, you will collaborate with business leaders, career services, and fellow campus recruiters to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies. You will organize and participate in both in-person and virtual events, such as career fairs, information sessions, and professional development workshops, to engage potential candidates. Additionally, you will cultivate and maintain relationships with university career services, professors, and student groups to enhance our company’s visibility on campus.
This position involves 75% travel throughout the Southeast.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Hosting Career Events: Take the lead in organizing engaging in-house career days and attending vibrant college career fairs to connect with the brightest potential candidates.
- Screening Candidates: Dive into reviewing resumes, conducting insightful interviews, and performing thorough skills assessments for junior positions and internships.
- Building Relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with universities, college career services, professors, and student groups to enhance the company’s visibility on campus.
- Promoting Employer Brand: Actively market the company to students and recent graduates, showcasing our brand to attract high-potential employees.
- Reporting Metrics: Track and report on key recruitment metrics to measure and optimize the effectiveness of our recruitment strategies.

- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with students, university staff, and hiring managers.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple recruitment events and processes simultaneously.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of individuals.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to assess candidates’ skills and qualifications accurately.
- Knowledge of Recruitment Tools : Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment software.
Job Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related discipline required
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a campus recruiter required
- Relevant Background: Experience working with students or recent graduates, either as a recruiter, in a career services role, or in a supervisory capacity, is highly advantageous.
- Key Skills: Exceptional consultative, strategic thinking, problem-solving, influential, and interpersonal skills.
- Client Engagement: Proven ability to engage, consult, and partner effectively with both external and internal clients.
- Event Participation: Prior involvement in college/university and community-wide recruiting events is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills with Applicant Tracking Systems, Oracle HCM, Microsoft Word, and Excel are preferred.
